Spare some time for our native Acers! Field Maple, Acer Campestre, is a strong, hardy, deciduous British tree.
On a more serious note, these trees would be more highly valued in the bonsai world if the leaves were naturally smaller. One of the challenges the bonsai grower faces is to get that leaf sizes down. Fortunately, this can be achieved though careful pruning and defoliation techniques.
Keep Field Maple bonsai trees outdoors. They’ll be fine out all winter. A fairly sunny location will also help to get the leaf size down.
We sometimes have a few of these trees available. When they are in, you’ll find them for sale on this page and on the outdoors and deciduous pages of the website.
