1 Akadama and 1 Pumice Full Bags Bonsai Soil

Experienced bonsai growers make their own soil mixes. Here are two full bags of commonly used components which give excellent results. Mix them together and add other soil media if you want to.

You’ll receive 14 litres are Akadama and 20 litres of pumice. The smart thing to do is use a soil sieve to keep the smaller granules for smaller bonsai and use the larger granules for bigger trees.

Akadama has excellent drainage properties but also holds large amounts of water – ideally suited towards healthy bonsai roots.

Pumice is favoured by many bonsai growers for its ability to hold water, maintain soil structure and provide drainage. It is an ideal part of many soil mixes for both evergreen and deciduous bonsai trees. 3-6mm granule size.
