Indoor Bonsai Soil Mix
Indoor bonsai soil mix created for indoor bonsai trees.
One of the many reasons why bonsai trees kept indoors (as opposed to outdoors) struggle is due to the lack of humidity in the air.
This indoor bonsai mix contains more organic material than our outdoor mixes. It aids water retention at the expense of drainage, aiming to increase humidity around your bonsai.
If you are repotting larger bonsai trees, for example, ones which you cannot lift with one hand, then our Premium Mix may be better. Use our indoor mix just for smaller trees.

Notes for beginners in bonsai:
You will notice when the soil arrives, that it is granular in nature. A granular based soil aids with drainage. You may think that it has stone / grit. In fact, it contains no grit at all. Grit by itself is not porous and so does not help the soil to hold any water. The brown granules are Akadama, a specialist bonsai soil which is highly absorbent and not cheap! Our soil mixes have been created through a long period experimentation in order to get the mix right.
